First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Yes, the inner springs of the hood hinges of early 80`s Volvos work great....the Volvo with creased hood (not the ttal flat hood)...You can fish them out of the volvo hinges and into the Firebird hinges with out removing hinges...also ,they barely sshow up after installed...but as Volvo hinges are the color of the car, you`d best paint them flat black before installing... I call mine Viagra springs! they give that eaxtra lift! lol Bjorn 69 vert (with Volvo springs in hinges), HALF member/Houston ,Tx +++++++++++++++++++++++++

I recall someone said they put springs from a different car inside the OEM springs. I think it was springs from a volvo, but I'm not sure now. This gave a bit more support to balance the weight of the hood. I would try that before removing the original springs. It could take a while to get all the settings correct on aftermarket springs that bring the hood back into correct alighment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/>
