Echoing my agreement, my issues with it were the same. Although
admittedly, I will learn to work with it, but it was annoying for a
while because (x) does not mean “close down, turn off and disable” on
any other application on the Mac. It must means: close the window. The
application is always left open unless I specifically choose to
disable or exit it. Which is what I liked about Firebug 1.3, in that
it was disabled only when you told it to be.

Indeed I heard there was a new activation model from a friend and it
was less than desired, so I simply avoided updating to a Firefox 3.5
beta until it was released, then it became apparent that I needed to
say something so that the workflow would not continue to be
frustrating on a daily basis. :)
