Actually let me be more explicit for FF 3.5:
Firefox > Tools > Clear Recent History (dialog)
Details ^
Uncheck everything except "cache".
Clear now
Firebug is not affected.
I believe that if you clear the page history, it will turn firebug
off. But I can't figure out how to do that in FF 3.5.
