After further troubleshooting I was able to determine that there is
some kind on conflict with the Cache Status plugin. Cache Status was
updated to version 0.7.9 about the same time as my Firefox upgrade. I
have gone through and disabled all addons then re-enabled them one at
a time until all were enabled. Cache Status caused this trouble. I
*did not* try just Firebug and Cache Status as the only plugins
enabled but tried everytime I enabled Cache Status, after restart, the
aforementioned symptoms reoccurred.
