In this case I suppose the problem is some kind of interference with another extension. You can test this theory by installing Firebug in a new Firefox profile, see http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ. Also, all of the options under Tools > Firebug are available under the Firebug Icon Menu, upper left corner of Firebug. jjb > > I do not have Kaspersky AV.
