Same issue for me. FF 33.0.2 Mac with Yosemite
SOME jQuery works while firebug is enabled (adding css classes), but a good deal of it does not. Anything with animation fails. I had fireQuery installed and once I disabled it I no longer see the issue. fireQuery seems to only work sporadically for me anyways, so I just ditched it.
