I am getting frustrated.

I have installed NFR on Linux and it appears to keep missing packets even on my low
bandwidth network. On top of that, while running NFR, I couldn't get Dr. Mudge's
L0pht NFR n-code Modules to work. Based on other NFR users, I am not the only one
with these issues. Now with the recent security holes in NFR, I am concerned about
relying on this to protect my network.

And not too long ago on Bugtraq, Dr. Mudge posted about security vendors should wake
up and take the responsibility to write secure code. After Dr. Mudge has endorsed NFR
because it was free with source code publicly available, it's ironic that Dr. Mudge's
advice to security vendors didn't get heeded by NFR. Maybe Dr. Mudge should help NFR
with an audit.

My issue is whether to consider NFR a mission critical tool, or a swiss army knife
that is fun to take things apart with.
