Hi madhur

Could you please tell me as to how you uninstalled SP5/SP6.

As for query no 2 there is no problem whatsoever if the SP is greater than
SP3.

Thanx & regds

Subject: WIN NT ??

Hi All

I have few doubts :

1) When I installed SP5 or SP6 and then uninstalled it the WIN NT
diagnostics or the blue screen at the time of boot up still shows SP5/SP6.
Why so ??? Does it mean the existing service pack is still SP6 or the
Service pack prior to its (SP5/SP6) installation is now the active one.?

2) When we try to install option pack 4 on NT with Service pack higher than
SP3 then it prompts a message that "SP is higher the SP3 and the product is
not tested with it " etc...etc... But the installation goes smoothly. I wish
to know is there any harm in doing so....installing Option pack on higher
Service pack ( >3) . ? What possibly may go wrong if we do so.??

3) I faced a problem. It was like this: I installed IE4 on WIN NT4 with
service pack3 and then i installed NT Option Pack 4 (IIS), and also later on
MS Proxy2.0 .....theni changed the computer name ....and my IIS started
behaving strangely, I changed all refernce to earlier old computer name in
the registry to new computer name...but still it showed some "rpc" related
error ...no browser client was able to connect to the proxy or IIS.

Any pointers or info. welcome
thanks in advance.
