It depends... If you buy a Hub with... say 8 ports, and you need the
9th, you will need to buy another hub with several ports which you won't
need at the beginning... same applies for "appliances" (one-purpouse devices).
If you have a "generic" box, you always can add another card, more
memory or more disk...
