I did that quite awhile ago for the Exchange servers I'm forced to deal with. This is documented in quite a few places. I just thought it was funny that, after reading about this awile back, my experience with Sendmail, Postfix and Exchange has only shown Exchange servers exhibiting this beahvior. Maybe it's just the subset of ESMTP commands my Exchange clients use, but I never get dropped messages or dot-stuffed errors on my non-Exchange boxes. > Better yet, I could suggest you do what we have done. No offense, but if I'm going to run what's probably a stripped down version of BSD or Linux running ipf/ipchains, I'd rather just build the box myself (I've already done that a few places along our backend). > They have no documented vulnerabilities or reported penetrations in > the past 5+ years. Most firewall platforms have stabalized over the years, even PIX and Checkpoint have less advisories these days. I'd always expect more advisories from a product that's more widly used (a.k.a. - 'sendmail syndrome'). Numbers match reality. That's not meant to detract anything from your statement, it's just a counterpoint. > CyberGuard firewall.
