Even after using fish a lot, the pager confuses me. I try to press "q" to quit it as if it was "less" :-).
I think the pager prompt of "X to Y of Z" violates discoverability. A user can guess that he can use arrows to scroll. But he has no way to guess that the recommended way to exit it is ESC or to type something. Ideally, the pager should still show at the bottom the fish prompt with the command being edited, making it obvious that the person can just go on typing. This might be hard to implement - either fish must pass the command (multi-line and highlighted) to the pager, or the pager must be integrated into fish? If that's a problem, let's just make the pager prompt more descriptive - something like "X-Y of Z (continue typing or press ESC)". -- Beni Cherniavsky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (I read email only on weekends) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
