I had seen pictures of Fjords in horse books, so I knew I liked them. One
night on a locally produced show called "Venture North", Ron and Kit Davis
were on with their horses. I got so excited because I didn't know there were
any in the area. I found their phone number in the phone book and called. Kit
was very nice and invited me out. When we drove up I could see some of the
fjords in a pasture by the road. It was so exciting to see them. The fjords
were so friendly, they crowd around people when they come into the pasture.
Kit kept inviting me back to see different things, babies, take a ride in the
wagon, etc. I also visted them at the MN horse expo. I finally had to buy
one. I picked out my horse before she was even born (because her mother was
the right type). We built a house that year, so I had to wait 'til my horse
was 10 months old before I could have her at home. She arrived on a subzero
January day with her blanket half torn off (she hated blankets and still
does).
Suzan, in warm sunny Minnesota. Yeah, right!
