Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately this is not an option. So, I thought I'd create a dynamic textfield in the depth I want, copy all properties from the original textfield to the new one and set .text = "" for the original textfield (unfortunately removeMovieClip doesn't work either).

I'm having some trouble making an exact duplicate of the first field, but I think I'll manage it.

Thanks again.

Regards,
Dimitrios

swapDepths can only be applied to movieclips. Put the textfield inside a
movieclip and then apply swapdepths to that.

Hello everyone,

I'm using .swapDepths() on a textfield on the stage,
that was not created dynamically, but was placed there
from iside the Flash IDE.

It's depth doesn't change and it remains negative.

Is this how it should work?

Thanks,
Dimitrios
