Tony; Is there a chance that the pasted text is actually including a carriage return at the end? Sometimes I've copy pasted stuff into a one-line text field and thought "where is it?" when actually I've included a hard return in the copy and so the pasted text has been pushed up one line, out of sight.
Don't know why this would be different in IE and FF though, so maybe it's not that, unless IE treats pasted carriage returns differently. It's a long shot, I agree, but a quick thing to check before delving deeper.
