The install size has indeed increased. That's because you're no longer just installing Flash but a whole bunch of .... (use your imagination) that is needed for integrating with other Adobe products. And yes, it takes forever to install (at least it did here).
I had to uninstall a CS3 suite from my laptop which took hours (seriously).
