Sorry then, I do have issues with being rude sometimes. I never said that he didn't show respect, he did show respect. I merely explained what he did wrong and how it was wrong. This is more or less what he did ask for when he asked for advice. I simply believe that if no one tells you what your errors are, you can not correct them.

I may have indirectly called him clueless, but even if it was indirect, it is my opinion. Guessing instead of properly studying rarely leads to you learning what you planed to learn. In my experience, you sometimes need to be blunt with people. If they don't get the message, the effort is wasted on both parts. Saying that he was clueless is a way of saying that he needs to think about what he is doing instead of going with the first thing that comes to mind.

While nobody can expect a newbie to understand every single thing in the language, I still expect people to study what they are about to use instead of blindly guessing. Especially if I tell them the exact name of what they need to use. Maybe I should have provided a link to something explaining it for him, but then again, I personally feel stupid if someone has to give me a link to something that I should be able to learn on my own.

In conclusion, I did not mean any offense and only wanted to help him.
