And yet, they did it ;) There was a C++ compiler in the Flash authoring long before Flex existed. In fact, the first versions of Flex used this compiler, if I recall corretly. I'm under the impression that Flash CS4 uses the compiler from the SDK, though. And there's a JVM install in the CS4 folder, anyway.
