I *think* my listeners are all under control Karl - but I'm still interested in whether my assumption is correct or not - does closing the browser window Completely remove the Flash Player instance from the IE DOM and release the memory it was using? (not Flash memory, but memory used by IE, as visible in the Task Manager)

IE: system capabilities, monitor size, mouse position, etc, or just listeners in general. Try removing the listeners before garbage collection and unload.
