I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and don't see this level of CPU utilization with the Griffin iMic or EMU-0202. So I believe it must be a configuration issue. I'm also using Portaudio and 3KHz waterfall. With waterfall paused I see 4-6%, and with it on fast I see 8-10%.
