I think that for the same reason, I lose some frames when receiving. It
is much better when closing the scope and the main windows.

which processes were taking up the cycles. There was always high
graphics interactivity when the audio chain timed out. You could try
reducing the vertical and horizontal sizes of the waterfall to see if
that helps.
This is consistent with a receive only situation when the problem
occurs, as during transmit there is so much less graphics use even if
you have monitot transmit turned on.
