Not for start a flag war, but...
I'm stick to Ubuntu (I used to be a Debian fan)
Just for the more up to date software and the more eye candy of the
distro, even at console work, in servers the ubuntu is more easy; they
incorporate many trick in console that you only know after testing it...
This tricks make you life MUCH easier...

As you know I've been using Debian testing. On the 6th they moved it to
stable. They had a last minute upgrade of several packages. In their
rush they broke several things, one of which was the log on screen. I
could no longer log in. Fixed it twice, then the whole thing went
belly up.
Being the intelligent person I am, I simply installed 10.04, so I'm
back to Ubuntu. May be a long while before I try Debian again. Luckily
everything thing important was backed up.
