It seems to be an fldigi issue between fldigi-3.21.4 and fldigi-3.22.0AA. I just tired it again and fldigi-3.21.4 commands the TS-590S VFO-A, but does not communicate at all with VFO-B. I quit fldigi-3.21.4 and launched 3.22.0AA with VF0-A still active on the Kenwood display and there was no communications with VFO-A. The QSY button changes fldigi on the waterfall, but does not change the TS-590S. I then depressed the A/B button on the TS-570S to make VFO-B active and fldigi-3.22.0AA commands the rig and the QSY button functions normal as long as VF0-B is active. I am posting this response to the alpha list to see if this weirdness shows up in other setups. I cannot explain the flipping of VFO's between two versions of fldigi. The inability of fldigi to detect and command the active VFO is a limitation to fldigi/Kenwood TS-590S users. I have no idea what caused the flipping. I came back after lunch and tried one more time. Now both fldigi-3.21.4 and 3.22.0AA command VFO-A just like Dave said they should. I will have to learn how to workaround the fact that fldigi commands only VFO-A. I use VFO-B for working DX splits so it may not be a big deal for me; however, some TS-590S users use VFO-A for phone and VF0-B for digital modes and they may have to change until fldigi can be programmed to recognize and command the active VFO.
