I want it to show center of the transmitted signal. fldigi already does that
-- it calls it "QSO Freq" in the log display. I find that MUCH more useful
than the rig VFO frequency as it is the center of what I am actually
transmitting over the air.

Huh. It is about the only one that makes sense to me as it is the only one
that is actually related to the transmitted signal.

The program still commands the rig to a particular VFO frequency but the
display frequency in fldigi would be the actual signal frequency. As you
drag the frequency background bar in fldigi that could change the VFO
frequency in the rig.

Well, it is the frequency of the signal that is going out over the air, not
some arbitrary value a kHz or so different from the transmitted signal.
