I have the TIMER tag before the RX tag, not sure why I ever put it there but it has worked fine for me even though it is described differently in the manual :-)
Having said that, I have e-mailed with Dave extensively about problems I had with the timer randomly stopping. Most evident while switching between virtual screens in KDE at first, but that was fixed a long time ago. The last time I had this problem I *think* I deleted my macro definition file and rebuilt it from scratch and that fixed it that time.
