The current implementation requires a <TX> in the macro for the
<TIMER:nn> to be effective.
If you propose any changes please be sure that they are based on
3.22.0AN or later. Note that I have added the ability to delay
execution of certain macro tags until the actual time of occurrence in
the macro string.

Having said that, I have e-mailed with Dave extensively about problems I
had with the timer randomly stopping. Most evident while switching
between
virtual screens in KDE at first, but that was fixed a long time ago. The
last time I had this problem I *think* I deleted my macro definition
file
and rebuilt it from scratch and that fixed it that time.

I'll investigate more but could you please confirm that this macro
