I work quickly in remove some part of the slash as Alex suggested. I upload
the result here:

What do you think? fits better with your expectations?

In the other hand, we should have some iconic square representation (as
Joao suggested) and it not necesarily should be a reduction of the FLEX
anagram, or have some of the letters (I really want to avoid similarities
with Fx logo), or even have the apache feather... It could be some cool
graphic that would represent Apache Flex, a icon...this should be hard to
find.

If someone brings some idea of what it could be it would be great. I will
think about it as well and see if I can  propose something.

Again, thanks for your appreciation of this proposal! If finaly we get a
satisfactory end result and you all guys end thinking that this could be
the final logo, I would be honored to donate the work to Apache, since as
Bertrand said this is a needed requeriment.
