Hi, As I said before, I'm thinking that square version could be some icon that we already don't have and represents Flex. It should have a good combination with this anagram. Make a square version of this logo is near impossible since is designed to be wide and flatten.
@Michael: I understand what you mean, I can experiment with the "new horizont idea" (although as I said my inspiration was to abstract the arc of a Bow (and apache Bow in opposite to the apache feather, but if we get to inspire different things the better! :)). In the end the basic two-color vector logo should allow us to experiment and end having a variety of end versions and results (like does nike, apple and so on...) @Joao, I'm with you that we should make a contest. If this finaly is set up, I will glad to present this logo (plus a square icon if I get to find something cool that fits with what we are searching), but I would enjoy to see other proposals. I'm sure that other professional logo makers could give us other great logo proposals. Finaly a voted logo should come up (and even a voted variation for the selected logo). @Jeffry, I think the apache feather should not necessarily be part of an apache project logo. it's like to try to insert the Adobe's "A" logo in all the products, or the Apple's "Apple icon" in the Apple's applications like Pages or Keynote. I think our logo should have it's own entity, and the feather should appear in the site as part of the Apache logo, that evidently will appear. I hope that in the end we could have well designed webs and resources with cool designs that enhance the overall quality of our beloved Apache Flex project. Thanks all for sharing!
