I think the problem is more that FM found the font, but that fond didn't
have the fontWeight: normal ... I know that if FM doesn't find the file I
get different errors. I got the error you were talkting about if I wanted to
embed a font that was internally marked "bold" as a plain font. I have to
admit that I didn't really understand this, but I started living with it. I
also couln't find a tool that outputs the settings I need to embed a font,
so I ended up with trying the combinations. Perhaps this is the issue in
your case.

I did have some trouble though getting the font embedding to work with FM4
and documented my stuff in my confluence ... mabe it helps:
