Well, I think your decision makes total sense. Installing flex SDK over maven repo is a total nightmare. A FWIW, FME 0.4 (coming after FLEX SDK 4.6) is able to consume flex SDK bundle, so with that you will be able to use custom SDKs more easily, w/o me deploying then anymore.
