What did you end up doing? I have the same problem.  I want to test the 
update framework we have built into our air app and I need the update 
descriptor file to have the same version number. But as you have found 
flexmojo doesn't share that generated version when it's a SNAPSHOT build. 
Sure I could hard code everything for testing, but that's inflexible and 
kinda defeats the purpose of using maven.
