Interesting topic ... I will say it is better to understand what is right than proving oneself right. It depends on functionality. If the UI is rich feature extensive Flex/RIA is better. Based on my experience so far I can say that managing html/jsp pages are easier than flex due to newness of technology, but that doesnt mean we should not try new thing.
