Thanks Darrick, but I currently don't use tapes for
backups.  Perhaps
someone subscribed to this list might be interested in
using your script
if you are willing to post it.

I use flexbackup for HD-HD backups.  It has worked
fairly well for me so
far.  One time, I swear that it was not backing up all
my files and was
burned.  I now run a compare for every backup.

I'm a perl programmer and just thought I'd lend a
quick hand to Jim.
