Thanks for the responses everyone. It's an interesting question that I had posed to myself... and at the time, I couldn't come up with any particular reason when to use it.
I have seen it used in the framework, and I agree that there is a place for it. But I do wish some developers never knew it existed. Especially the one's who wrote this "framework" I'm forced to use.
