Thanks, but no I haven't had anything running and
re-booted twice.

I have noticed that the flashVersion returned seems to
be 0 instead of 8.5 but that should not be problem
when it's re-installed -- I was able to uninstall via
regsvr32 but that didn't work; same problem.

I'm familiar with the open app handle instance count;
and I'm aware of the IE Web Control being used by
Folder Hypertext Templates Webview and some Namespace
Extensions in Explorer (though HTT's are no longer in
Windows XP formally; I know why :)

I do think it's possibly such an issue; but given some
of the other experiences I've just read and how long
standing it is, it's more familiar with some of the
other things in IE; which is a good browser, just the
wrong person leveraging it as the author...If it is
purposeful code, I don't think it's conspiracy, I
think it's just the way things are done when someone
is losing power.

I really do need to resolve this though so I can get
some of my other code tested.
