Thanks, but no I haven't had anything running and re-booted twice. I have noticed that the flashVersion returned seems to be 0 instead of 8.5 but that should not be problem when it's re-installed -- I was able to uninstall via regsvr32 but that didn't work; same problem.
I'm familiar with the open app handle instance count; and I'm aware of the IE Web Control being used by Folder Hypertext Templates Webview and some Namespace Extensions in Explorer (though HTT's are no longer in Windows XP formally; I know why :) I do think it's possibly such an issue; but given some of the other experiences I've just read and how long standing it is, it's more familiar with some of the other things in IE; which is a good browser, just the wrong person leveraging it as the author...If it is purposeful code, I don't think it's conspiracy, I think it's just the way things are done when someone is losing power. I really do need to resolve this though so I can get some of my other code tested. -r --- Roger Gonzalez <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > My suspicion: you're running something that is > keeping it locked. > > Try using the tools you can download from > http://www.sysinternals.com/ > to see what process is the culprit.
