Yeah, our plan was to develop a series of mini-apps that could be used interchangeably througout different applications as needed. Sort of a dashboard deployment. I'd be a little let down if Flex didn't support this function, which I believe is quite simple in the .NET environment. Java, not so sure, but seems likely to work there.
