lots of books.  You can also just google the acronym:  SEO

But I think that I am on sound ground saying that search engines index
what is in the page at urls.  They have no idea how what is there got
there.  They just index what they find there.

You just need to be sure that the search engines can find your site.  Then
they will take care of the rest :-)
