Yeah this was my thought as well.

Unfortunately in  the real world this would mean taking a snapshot of 
the whole application which means potentially starting with 1600x800 
pixels added on to that as the component could potentially be dragged 
around by the user I thought the cpu cost of this would likely be 
enormous and kill the application, though maybe I could turn of 
this "feature" whilst dragging.

So I was hoping there  was another, smarter, solution.

Look like I will have to try it...
