Rather than ask a brand new question, I'll resurrect an old question.

I know James said to check out the flex.org/java site, but there is
*nothing* there for people new to java, it's completely aimed at
introducing Flex to Java developers.

Where can us java newbies go to learn the specifics of Java that we
need in order to use BlazeDS or WebORB as our backend?

(I have the "The RIA Book" mentioned on the site, and it assumes a
high level of java understanding, along with the examples on Adobe DevNet)

TIA!
