Thanks, but unfortunately this isn't the required behaviour. What you
suggested allows you to highlight a cell, drag over other cells..
However once you release the mouse button only the last cell you are
over is selected, not all the cells you dragged over. 
 
Any other suggestions would be great,

Hi All,
 
I may well soon have the need for a component similar to the list which
allows the drag selection of rows. This would work like the day view
within Outlook calendar. By dragging over rows you can select multiple
rows to insert tasks etc.
 
Has anyone any suggestions on what I would need to change on the list?
Perhaps you have done or seen something similar?
 
Any pointers would be great,
