That code is pretty ghetto, I'll post something worthy in a week or so. The tween I'm talking about is the animation of the TextArea expanding beyond the renderer, much like the animation for the List of the ComboBox. When the user starts editing a row and the itemRenderer is called, I start a tween to expand the TextArea out of the renderer. (Straight out of the ComboBox logic) What is your zoom editor all about? -Evan _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tracy Spratt Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 12:40 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [flexcomponents] TextArea Data Grid item editor Super good timing on this. I was just about to start on a TextArea "zoom" editor component. I won't be any help on the issue you mentined, since I do not even know what a "tween" is. But if I see anything else, I'll pass on the suggestions. I was just tasked with this today and found a solution. :^) Here is a screenshot: http://www.evangiff <http://www.evangifford.com/treeGrid/TextAreaEditor.jpg> ord.com/treeGrid/TextAreaEditor.jpg The trick is to use the PopUpManager to bust that TextArea out of the renderer. This is exactly how a ComboBox works, so I just snacked the appropriate logic from there and put it into a custom item editor. Just worked on this for about an hour so far so it's pretty darn rough, but here is the dataGrid item Renderer (with a lot of useless stuff specific to my project): http://www.evangiff <http://www.evangifford.com/as/> ord.com/as/ The tween to close works, but tween to open does not. Let me know if you find a solution before I do, it's got to be something these red eyes are not seeing ;^) -Evan
