wow. that's not a small amount of data. I've started looking at Apollo with it's dinky little embedded database to do this. but that depends on what the database can pull off.

To begin with I'd try to get to the functionality of Excel's basic pivot table. Larger data sets can have up to 5-10 dimensions on each edge (row, column, page) and 10s of thousands of rows of data. Drilling and pivoting are the most basic operations I need to support. I do all my aggregations on the server and don't expect to do any client-side in ActionScript.
