Hi Vijay,

Is the data expected to come back in XMLA format? How would you do
pivoting without going back to the server again? Do you expect that all
the data for drill down is also available on the client?

I'm trying to build a classic pivot table component for OLAP data
analysis. Top BI vendors such as Oracle provide such components in DHTML
and in thick desktop clients. To begin with I'd try to get to the
functionality of Excel's basic pivot table.

Larger data sets can have up to 5-10 dimensions on each edge (row,
column, page) and 10s of thousands of rows of data. Drilling and
pivoting are the most basic operations I need to support. I do all my
aggregations on the server and don't expect to do any client-side in
ActionScript.

Can you provide more details on what you are planning to achieve?

- What is the size of your dataset?

- How many dimensions do you expect to have?

- What kind of aggregations do you plan to do?

- What kind of interactions do you plan to have on pivot table?

Hi,
I'm looking for a Flex component that does what Excel Pivot Tables do.
Anyone have a list of any free or commercial Pivot Table components
out there?
Anyone interested in an open source project to develop one?

Thanks
Vijay
