I think the #1 fear is the complexity of Flash Programming if threading
is introduced.  The API of course may help with that and if it makes
sense it's something that could be considered for the future.  We've
certainly heard the requests and even put them in ourselves sometimes.
But it's not on the short-term roadmap.

Is there a reason why this is not being looked into? Is it because
- there is generally little interest,
- it would make flash programming more difficult if you had to factor
in thread saefty or
- would it make the VM too complex
