He has done it again! Another unadvertised and unrecognized technical
benefit of Flex Radio! The reflector, from time to time, will contain a
posting from William H. Fite! And I have already learned that I might as
well reach for the Webster's Collegiate Dictionary! Lagniappe! He got me
fair and square. I knew I was going to pay a price for falling behind in
regular reading (instruction manuals excluded). I'm sure this is one of
the esoteric factors of "excitement!

Indeed so. If there is howling and screaming, it must surely come from
people who fail to understand the point you made, Brian. Given the
capability of the Flex radios, they are priced significantly lower than
equivalent knob-boxes. Software to accompany an SDR should absolutely be
included in the purchase price but the frequent free upgrades and mods we
get must be considered lagniappe, not things to which we are automatically
entitled.
