Now 3 cents worth!

Just a thought because I hate the thought of losing the privileges we have here.

Remember its just a thought!

The ones who complains, which is the minority, simply exclude them from this forum. Its that simple.

This is a free forum for free software that is worked on by hard working programmers and those others who are willing to test the software and those behind the scenes who we do not hear from.

Its that simple. You don't like it lump it as the saying goes! No political correctness here. When someone complains, just simply prevent them from continuing in this forum. This may sound as a dictatorship approach and this is far from my character! But again keep it simple.

I personally enjoy this forum and those who distributes their time and effort toward making PowerSDR work in our favor for us to enjoy so that some of us can escape in a time of pleasure that allow us to somewhat forget all the worries we have around us!

We must continue to enforce the positives and leave the negatives behind.

Again I must add this statement: To Flex Radio and to those who distributes their efforts. Keep up the great work and I hope the majority will back you all up! I do.

It's a shame what negative attitudes and a handful of people can do. I think
it's great that Gerald and his team practice open development. It's pretty
much unprecedented to find a company that GPL's the software for their
hardware solution and openly develops it with constant input from customers.
It troubles me that people go out of their way to complain about missed
deadlines in a product that is so obviously under development. I can
understand that its frustrating to see so-called promised deadlines pass,
but venting them to the development list is over the line in my opinion.
Judging by Gerald's response, it wouldn't surprise me if the next generation
software is developed behind closed doors and only released at milestones.
The software is free, complaining until it isn't seems very
counterproductive.

I'm just happy that Flex allows us in on their development. I guess it's
just too bad that some customers don't get it.

Well, having done software/systems design and implementation for most of my professional life, I can say that this activity is like nailing jello to a tree. Just the interdepencies alone are enough to take years off your life. The right thing to do is to make it as right as possible. Having been under the gun, I know it doesn't enhance my accuracy. Just the reverse. So I think
we need to be patient. This is probably the best supported system I have
ever owned. The products and services are top notch. Sort of like the Smith

David,

I sincerely apologize that we are not perfect in planning, announcing, and delivering our free software upgrades. There are many reasons that delays happen but I won't elaborate further here. As they stay, "Stuff happens."

However, I will commit here and now that we will release when it is ready
to
the best of our knowledge. We are highly motivated and care about
delivering the best products we know how to provide. We could have
shipped
a buggy and/or incomplete product weeks ago but we don't think that is
best
for our customers or our reputation.

As we at FlexRadio plan for the future you can expect two things to
change.
First, we will be less public about future product plans. Second,
software
upgrades cannot be offered free forever. It costs real money to hire
engineers who write quality software.

Respectfully,

Gerald
