You are on the right track. Do what you think is best and then show
people what you have done and ask for comments.
One of the most important people in the early design process is the
"straw man." Its much easier to float an idea defined by a few people
and let the larger group pick it apart and shape it than it is to get
the large group to decide on which way to go.
