I installed Power SDR 2.0.19 RC1 this morning for my Flex 5000A. The
installation program ran without any issues on my XP/SP2 system. I did
not uninstall anything from the 2.0.16 installation, and the new
firewire driver and firmware went in fine. My compliments to Flex for
putting together an excellent installation package!
I did use the newest K9DUR SDR Transfer utility from Ray to attempt to
import my 2.0.16 database tables with the exception of the State table.
The utility indicated that it would not (could not) import the Options,
FWC Ant, and the Wave options information but it transferred all the
other tables successfully. It only took a few minutes to manually input
the other information and it was all good to go.
A couple of quick observations after running it for several hours:
It appears to be very stable (everything above 2.0.6 has been for me).
The CW keying is very different. It's a huge improvement, with very
smooth transitions from TX to RX.
The tiny RX spur that seemed to always be present on the panadapter,
exactly on whatever frequency I was tuned to, is now gone.
The RX spurs that were present on 6 meters are gone! It's clean right up
through 54.0 MHz!
I haven't encountered anything negative with 2.0.19 RC1 after several
hours of TX and RX.
So far so good! Nice job Flex!
