Hello Mike, I have a Flex5000 and the 3000 and both PCs run XP.
I have no issue with the 5000. As far as the 3000, I know the issue is with an added hardware device that I had added. Originally I was using the on-board firewire when the issue had arrived. Dudley recommended that I place an internal firewire card in the Pc. That is what I had done and immediately it fixed the issue. Since then I had added some internal boards. One board that was added was an USB board, that allows more USB connections. The point I am trying to make is, its in my personal hardware/driversdevices. Its has nothing to do with an issue of PowerSDR or the Flex3000. Maybe the issue I am having is the same as yours. If you could simplify one of the PCs that is running one of the Flex radios and go from there maybe you can narrow it down. I will be taking out any of the extra boards that I had inserted one at a time until I find the issue. I need to use all of the boards that I had inserted, but if I find the issue, at lease this will give me a starting point on where to go from there. Hope this helps. Ken K3YI ________________________________ Ken (and others); First of all, I must add an overdue CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to the Flex-Radio team for the latest version of PowerSDR, V. 2.0.19 RC1!!!! Magnificent!!! Ken, I have had this same (or SIMILAR) "scratchy audio" issue with my Flex Radio(s). It happens to me every few days, but with an unpredictable pattern. My indication is similar to yours, Ken; -I will be in either receive or in transmit mode, and the audio will "go bad." My indications: - In RX, the audio goes scratchy. - In TX mode, it is reported that the audio goes bad as well as my transmitted signal is suddenly wider than normal. (Per another Flex-user, running PowerSDR.) - In either case, I can resolve the problem by "cycling" the START button in PowewrSDR. I have seen this issue with PowerSDR 1.n as well as 2.n I have experienced this issue with all of my computers, which include an HP Pavilion at 2 Ghz; a MacBook Pro at 2.4 Ghz; a Mac Mini at 1.8 Ghz; an iMac at 2.6 Ghz. (This issue has been present for several years; It is not a show-stopper, but is simply an annoyance.) - I have experienced this issue with a Flex-1500, a Flex-3000 and TWO Flex-5000a radios. - In all cases, I am running Windows XP-SP3. - I do believe I had seen this with Windows-7, but not too sure... - In most cases, my CPU load is well under 20%, with the HP being the highest, at just over 20%. - In most cases, my average DPC is seen at100 to 130 uSeconds. In my most-often used iMac, I am running Boot camp, with Windows XP SP-3 installed. In this configuration, I have the following items disabled, per the DEVICE MANAGER: - Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth - Apple IR Receiver - 1394 Net Adapter (under "Network Adapters") - Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter (under "Network Adapters") I have no active "anti-virus" programs running; -I do have AVG FREE or others (SpyBot, etc.) loaded onto my computer at this moment. (I have looked, and I do NOT have these showing up in my START -> PROGRAMS list.) Other that this small flaw, all of my Flex-Radio (PowerSDR version 2.0.19 RC1) installations have all been very stable! In looking at my DEVICE MANAGER, I see lots of candidates, such as a lot of items under SYSTEM DEVICES and USB SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS. - Are these two sample areas where I should be looking? - If I select one as a trial, must I RESTART the computer for a fair test? - Is there a procedure that I can try to follow, to rid my radios of this small, not-too-often-happening condition??? Thanks in advance! -Mike- K ØJTA Hello, I am having scratchy receive audio. ......... While listening to the flex3000 within a minute I get this big spike and then the audio gets scratchy. As if something was just turned on. This will come and go. It is coming from the PCs hardware I expect. I have tried looking in "Device Manager" and tried to turn a few things off that looked to have the same "IRQ" as the firewire. ........
