Ray,
You are the second person to recommend the Alinco. I think I will give one a
try. I am also going to mod my MFJ to have a variable speed fan that is
temperature controlled.

That's to all for your responses.

Requirments)

Tim,

I have 3 of the Alinco DM-330MV switching power supplies. They are rated
32A peak, 26A cont. Most of the switching supplies have a side-effect of
generating RF hash, but the Alinco's are dead quiet in that respect.

I know -- you were talking about fan noise. The fan on the Alinco is also
quiet. I will admit that the bearings in the fan of my oldest supply are
getting a bit noisy, but it has been on 24/7 for 7-8 years. It is about
time to spring the $20 to get a new fan....hi..hi.

The Alinco supplies are adjustable over a greater range than you specify as
well as having a preset value (which is also adjustable).

The Astron supplies you mentioned are linear supplies and are not
adjustable. They do not have fans, so they are dead quiet in their
operation. By-the-way, I would not recommend the RM-20. 20A is a bit light
for a 100W radio. The RM30 would be a better choice.
