David, Yeah I know. I don't see the bus speed specs anywhere but Shuttles are popular with gamers so I would imagine that they should support the Flex.
Alan, Yes, most computers now are coming sans Firewire port. Even when they do come with one, you have to be careful which chip set you get. Some perform better with the Flex than others. I plan on using the same PCIe SIIG Firewire card with the TI chip set that I am using now. TIm. I agree. I don't like combo cards. The specs do say there is a serial port - my guess is that the connector is internal and you have to supply your own DB-9 connector and cable. If not, there are a couple of options - one is a USB/Serial adapter. The also a third PCIe connector inside - I haven't seen it up close but there should be a way to use it. I do believe that you can use onboard graphics and a card. I am running that experiment this weekend with my HP as soon as the graphics card gets here. If it works on my HP like I think it does, then I will e-mail Shuttle and see what they say. Since having a Flex, I have become addicted to the radio having its own monitor and then having loggers, spotters/cluster monitors, skimmers, and digital mode software all visible at the same time.
